Utilizing the ICONIX learning system, we help students bring their most powerful processing and memory tools to achieve faster, more efficient, and deeper learning. 
Respecting the hierarchies of human development (crawling before walking, tactile exploration before visual dominance), ICONIX has created proprietary multi-modal and multi-sensory instructional programs (utilizing some of the same tools and techniques that our college and professional athlete clients use to strengthen their performance) to help fill in the gaps of developmental need.

Children Play to Learn


Children, like kittens, play with natural abandon. They do not need to learn to play. The most rapid expansion of synaptic density occurs in the first four years of life. Children are fantastic natural learners, and play is their business. Spontaneous imaginative play is the magic elixir that fuels the most explosive learning period of life.  Artful ICONIX teachers weave instruction into the golden recipe of play.

Teachers Learn to Play

 ICONIX methods and sequences arrange conditions allowing students to extend natural play into school.  Instruction melds seamlessly into natural play. Just as brain development is hierarchical, so too are our instructional methods and sequences. 
The ICONIX teacher carefully watches her students. She “Watches and Wonders.” She watches what each child does, and she wonders why they do it. She knows there is No Purposeless Behavior. Before she fully commits to a particular approach for any child, she asks and answers the big question.

What are You Doing in There?

The teacher becomes a “Diagnostician of Thinking” as opposed to a deliverer of data. She teaches thinking, later her fully engaged students delight in the discovery of data.  It is paramount for the teacher to accurately assess each child’s state of development to prescribe lessons, in the form of games, that match each student’s developmental need.
Students work on the same lesson material but with differentiated “rules of the game.” Properly differentiated demand is richly rewarded with enthusiastic engagement.
Although we provide rigorous curricular content, ICONIX places more emphasis on developing a child’s capacity to learn. Public schools mistakenly emphasize content over learning capacity. Those who have leaned to learn, master lesson content like a hot knife through butter.

Why Iconix?

All students have a place here at FFCA. Each student will find a challenge suitable to their developmental level.  Each student will be evaluated by Dr. Cassidy Luna with Resilient Beginning for their
individualized learning plan.

Resilient Beginning

We look at each child as a whole, assessing and diagnosing their behavior and thinking, working hand in hand with the teacher to create an individualized learning plan for that child.  When a child struggles, we provided observation, analysis, and an individualized learning plan to ensure classroom success.  We do not allow learning problems to persist.
